On march 26 the club
is having Shane Metcalfe Y-Aim training school on 26th of March, its $150 for non MA license
holders and $130 if you have a motorcross licence. You will need to book a month in advance to make sure that we get at least 10 people there. All are welcome and it would be an awesome experience. updated 1/2/11
On October the 17th we will be holding a family and come and try day on the one day so if you know anyone interested in going for a ride let them know they can ride for free on that day. The day will start at 11:00 am and a BBQ and drinks will be provided for a small fee.
Also if anyone pays for a membership from the 1st of October they will get the rest of this years membership as well as all of next year, so if you want some good riding time then this is the go!
On the 6th and 7th of November we will be holding the National Sidecar Titles so we will need all the help we can get. Jobs like cooking the BBQ working the canteen and also the gate but any help would be appreciated. updated 12/9/2010
Hi all. just letting you know that the AGM will be held on the 5th of August at the Naracoorte Hotel at 7 pm for tea and drinks.
If you would like to be in the Korum then you have to be at the meeting. See you there!
Also congratulations to all the NMCC members that took part in the Nhill pony express. The Saturday's weather was not what anyone wanted but the juniors kept going and were rewarded with some fine weather at the end of the race. Well done to Luke and Matty Bunnik, Brayden Smith and Jake Stringer, Tahnee and Leyton Smith who all took part, you all did a great job. None of the kids got a place but they had a great time with some very interesting riding.
The weather for the seniors was just perfect on the Sunday which made for some fast racing and with 150 entrants it was very busy. Unfortunately Joe Bunnik injured his knee before the race and couldnt take part so his partner Darren Smith took part in the Ironman section which consists of 4 hours solid riding. After doing 31 laps Darren ended up 5th. The McInness brothers rode well as usual but they had some very fast competition in their group who eventually took out the overall the boys ended up third in their class.
Mark Midwinter and Fitzy were on their way to winning their class until Fitzy fell off and hurt his already tender shoulder but to his credit he battled on and they still managed second place. Matt Grosser also entered in the Iron man section and was doing very well until he miscalculated how many laps he had done and ran out of fuel which would have cost him a lap or two. It was disappointing because he was riding well. Well done again to all the local riders and if you have some photos or anything to add feel free to send them through to naracoortemotorcycleclub@gmail.com. Updated 17/7/2010
Well so far the family days have been well attended and we are just begining the motocross season. Thanks goes to all those that hepled on the day and at this rate we as a club should have a great year.
The track was in great condition and a lot of fun was had by all don't forget that the next family day is on the 6th of June so see you there.
Don't forget that there is a meeting on Thursday the 6th of may to get things ready for the state side car championships so please show your support by attending so that we can run this event successfully.
Thanks to the guys that came down to the track on Monday because now the club has their new verandah on the opposite side of the the clubhouse as the other one. It looks great and will be a welcome addition for all the Mums and Grandies when they are watching the kids.
We still have alot of things happening in the pipe line so keep checking this page for all the updates and we will be putting up photos of it all as soon as we can. updated 27/4/10
Well another family day
has been done and alot of fun was had by all. The weather was kind to us
all with some rain that morning which made the track a little slippery
early (which a few of us found out the hard way) but after lunch the
track was just unreal which was in stark contrast to what we have been
riding lately because it has been quite dry.
NMCC would also like
to welcome all the new members that joined on the day and remember that
now all you need is a key and you can ride when you like.
Also
all the riders would like to thank Damon and Fiona Stringer for keeping
the toilets clean and also cooking the bbq on the day thanks guys.
Now
that its coming into motocross season we will be holding our family
days on a monthly basis for at least the next six months while riding is
good so become a member so that you will be alerted by text message
when the next one will be held.
